Frequently Asked Questions about Appointments with Me
Who do i see
I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and young professionals (ages 18-45). I have experience and especially enjoy helping my clients overcome stress related to school and work pressure and demands.
How long are sessions
My main goal for sessions is to ensure that you have the time you need to feel comfortable with the decisions we make together. Generally, initial evaluations last about 90 minutes and follow up appointments are generally about 30-45 minutes long; however, if you feel you need more time, I will aim to ensure you are given the time for us to fully address your concerns. After an initial evaluation, I generally will see clients within 2-4 weeks and generally no longer than 4 weeks out if any changes are made to the medication regimen. Once stability is obtained and medications are working well, appointments can be lengthened out to 3 then possibly 6 months depending on circumstances.
Insurance and payments
I am a contracted provider with:
- Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield (and can see various BCBS plans originating from various states through the BlueCard program)
- Pacific Source
I also see patients "out of network" should your insurance offer these benefits. I do request up front payment at the time of appointment and will provide you with all needed information should you choose to seek out of network reimbursement. If choosing to pay out of pocket, please contact me for rates (generous discounts provided in these circumstances).
Figuring out your insurance benefits can be an extremely complicated endeavor, and I am happy to help in any way I can. If you are unsure about the aspects of your coverage, I do recommend you call you insurance company and verify:
- Do I have mental health benefits? (just in network or out of network as well?)
- Is Kaitlyn Fredrick, PMHNP a participating mental health provider with my plan?
- Do I have a deductible? How much of my deductible has been met this year?
- Do I have a co-pay? How much is my co-pay to see Kaitlyn Fredrick, PMHNP?
- Do I have to pay a co-insurance amount? If so, what is that percentage?
- Is there a limit of how many sessions I am allowed per year?
- Do I need 'pre-authorization' to see Kaitlyn Fredrick, PMHNP?
accepted forms of payments
I accept cash, check, or any form of credit card via Square. Payment is collected at the time of service. Please be prepared to pay your co-pay at your appointment. If you have coverage with Regence BCBS, Pacific Source, or Aetna, I will bill your insurance and inform you if I encounter any issues; however, it is your responsibility to understand and be aware of your insurance benefits.
If patients do not attend my appointments, I do not get paid. I do request (unless extremely unforeseen, emergency circumstances arise) 24-hour notice if you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment with me. If notice is not given with 24 hours or if you "no show" an appointment without any notice, a $50 fee will be billed to you.
Currently, I see patients from 9AM-5PM on Mondays and 1-6PM on Thursdays. However, regardless of my particular scheduled days in the office, I make it a priority (unless extenuating circumstances) to return patient contact within 24-48 hours, even on the days when I am not in the office.
